Vision Statement
 
St Mary's CE Primary School strives to give all children every opportunity to grow and achieve.


Our aim is:

  • To create in children a feeling of awe and wonder, thereby promoting a sense of faith
     
  • To celebrate our Christian ethos and the religious and cultural diversity of the school community
     
  • To create a welcoming environment in which all members of the school community can feel safe, happy and secure
     
  • To provide a co-operative environment, we provide the skills to resolve differences and build effective relationships
     
  • To stimulate and excite a real love of learning, through providing a curriculum which is challenging, enjoyable and fosters cross-curricular links
     
  • To encourage independent, active learning as a life-long process
     
  • To nurture and develop self esteem and confidence thus enabling all children to reach their potential
     
  • To create a sense of belonging by showing care, concern and mutual respect
     
  • To understand our influence and effect on each other, our school and the wider environment and promote positive actions to enhance the community in which we live

 
Ethos Statement

  • Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religous character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.
     
  • The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the  experience it offers to all its pupils.
