ST MARY'S SCHOOL, FINCHLEY, PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

Registered Charity No. 272592

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA), is an organisation of parents and staff. Its role is to encourage closer links between home and school. The PTA organise a number of fundraising events to provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together. The funds raised go back into the school to purchase much needed additional resources.

The PTA holds a number of meetings through the school year to discuss how the funds are spent and which projects / equipment should be funded.

There are also other fun events throughout the year such as the Summer Fair, Christmas Fair, Quiz night and special events such as a Bollywood night and Film night. An AGM is held once a year and is open for all parents to attend

St Mary’s Christmas Fair 2021

Dear Parents and children,

On behalf of the PTA, we warmly invite you and your family to the traditional Christmas Fair on Sunday, 5th December from 1-4pm, being held in the school.

We are delighted to be able to host the Christmas fair again this year, as it’s the first time in almost two years that the school community can come together in support of our school.

St Mary’s PTA hosts the Christmas fair as a way of raising vital funds, to ensure the school can continue to provide equipment and facilities to enhance learning and development for all the pupils of the school. The pandemic has seriously curtailed our fundraising, and we are seeking the generosity and support of as many families as possible, as this is one of the most important fundraising events in the school calendar.

It's a fun afternoon out for all the family, with stalls selling gifts to get you in the festive mood. Activities include: raffle, adult’s and children’s tombolas, face-painting, hair colours and braiding, origami, Christmas crafts, gingerbread and biscuit decorating plus games galore!

Raffle Prizes include a Fortnum & Mason Hamper kindly donated by Martyn Gerrard, a one-week holiday camp place sponsored by Poolside Manor, a Swatch watch, vouchers from Explore Learning, Abel & Cole, Bloom & Wild, The Entertainer, the Phoenix and Vue cinemas, as well as cakes from Bluebelles cafe, luxury beauty and hair products and vouchers, wine and much, much more! Tickets are on sale for £1 each on ParentPay.

Bring your appetites too! We will be selling a range of Chinese and Caribbean foods, savouries, pastries, and pizza, alongside our usual cakes and sweets stalls. This year we are introducing a craft beer and Christmas themed cocktail bar to complement our usual hot drinks selection.

It’s mainly a cash event, so do ensure you have cash or coins so the children can partake in activities to enjoy the fair to its fullest.

We are using enhanced cleaning practices for everyone’s safety and are politely requesting that all adult attendees wear a face covering. All volunteers on our stalls and at the activities will also wear masks.

The choir will perform carols and we hope to share a wonderful afternoon full of festive spirit with you and your families. We look forward to seeing you all there.

With best wishes,

St Mary’s CE Primary School (Dollis Park) PTA
