Introduction
St Mary’s is a Church of England school which is directed, as all Church of England schools are, to have a Christian ethos. This ethos is demonstrated in the way the School teaches the pupils and interacts with everyone. Our Vision summarises our ultimate aim; our Values are Christian but are taught for all to embrace; our Motto is to be remembered by everyone and used to accompany our school badge, in place of our old Latin one.
Our Christian Ethos
Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and in partnership with the Church at parish and diocesan level.
The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian beliefs and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith, and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils.
